Twin Over Queen Bunk Bed

Beds are of different styles and sizes, there is certain standard size for mattress. These days’ different types of beds are available in the furniture store. Different sizes of bed suits different people according to their needs and purposes. When there are different types of bed frames available these days, the size of mattress is standardized everywhere. Only the way of mentioning it differs from one country to another. Some of the common sizes of bed mattress are the twin size for single adults and the queen size for couples. The twin size bunk bed

A bunk bed is a type of bed frame which can house two beds, one at the top and another in the bottom. It is similar to a berth in a train; this type of bed frame occupies only the horizontal space of a single bed and yet it can accommodate two persons. The twin size bed is a very commonly sought size of bed mattress for kids and single adults. The twin size bed can be easily found in hostels, small apartments, and kids’ room. The advantage of the small size of the twin bed makes it easily placed bed in any sized room. When comparing the twin bed with the queen bed the twin is smaller is size and hence then twin size bed is first choice of bed for bunk beds and small rooms.

Queen size bunk bed

A queen size bed in general is known as a couples’ bed, it can fit two persons in this bed. The queen size bed can be commonly found in motel rooms for couples. The queen size bed is bigger than a double bed; hence it can fit two people with ease. However the queen size bed cannot be a suitable bed for daily usage of couples. When comparing the twin size bed with the queen bunk bed the queen size bunk bed does not offer enough single space for an individual. This factor makes it difficult for the couples for daily using this queen size bed. The availability of bunk beds in the queen size is less; most of the bunk beds are of the twin size.

Features of both the type of beds

The queen size bed is definitely a couples’ bed, but it does not suit the bunk bed style. Even though the queen bed is bigger than a double bed, the queen bed offers less single space than the twin bed. When the single space in a twin bed and a queen size bed is compared, the twin bed offers nine inches more single space than a queen size bed. This important factor is the reason why the queen size bunk beds are not common. In another aspect, it is rare to find a set of couples sleeping in bunk beds. Hence the bunk beds are primarily designed for single adults and so they are available mostly in the twin size beds.
